It should come as no surprise that the Orlando Informer Meetup is chock full of memorable moments. In fact, with after-hours access to Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure, seriously low crowds, and unlimited food, it would be hard not to make lifelong memories at the OI Meetup!
Of course, memorable moments look different for everyone – they might take the form of heart-stopping thrills, or maybe they exist in the quieter moments of peacefully wandering about a theme park. I’ve jotted a few of my own personal favorites below, both in the interest of inspiring you and of reliving them through my writing.

1. Beating your high score on MEN IN BLACK™ Alien Attack™
If you’re like me, you’ve been trying to max out your score on MEN IN BLACK™ Alien Attack™ for years. Well, thanks to the low crowds and minimal waits at the Orlando Informer Meetup, you’ll have all the time in the world to ride over… and over… and over… and over again until you finally hit that goal! (Yes, I did do a victory dance when this happened.)
There’s no better feeling than becoming a Galactic Defender, even if Agent J neuralizes you right afterward. And don’t worry if you can’t quite crack that high score – you can numb the pain by taking advantage of those unlimited snacks. (Churros make everything better, you know.)
2. Watching the dragon atop Gringotts™ bank roar with a Butterbeer™ in-hand
If you’re a Harry Potter™ fan, this is a must-do memorable moment. As a fanatic myself, I can confirm that nothing compares to the joy of sipping a Butterbeer™ and watching as the dragon perched on top of Gringotts™ bank lets out a fiery roar at the guests below. And if you’re attending a winter OI Meetup, the holiday decorations make this experience all the more wondrous! (It’s a great photo opportunity, too.)
3. Discovering a new favorite theme-park snack
I’m of the opinion that few memorable moments hold a candle to your first bite of a new favorite snack. (I can’t be the only one who vividly remembers her first time trying a churro, right?)
With unlimited food and non-alcoholic beverages, the Orlando Informer Meetup offers the perfect chance to expand your palate without breaking the bank. I’m talking chicken and waffles, baby back ribs, cannolis… and that’s just naming some of the unique fare you can indulge in.
4. Enjoying the peaceful ambiance of Hollywood
Remember how I mentioned those memories that happen in the quieter, more peaceful moments? Take a stroll through Hollywood during an OI Meetup, and you’ll see exactly what I mean. The minimal crowds make it easy to soak in all the subtle sights and sounds that you might not have otherwise noticed. This is even more true during a winter Orlando Informer Meetup, when the holiday decorations and cooler weather combine to create an ambiance that simply can’t be beat! (Of course, if thrills are more your style, there’s always The Bourne Stuntacular.)
5. Snapping your favorite Universal photo without the crowd
Universal Orlando Resort is brimming with fantastic photo ops, so it’s fitting that one of my favorite ways to document my Universal memories is by snapping a picture. If you’re in the same boat, I have some good news: at the OI Meetup, minimal crowds mean your pictures will come out even better than they usually do!
