Are you a morning person? I’ll be honest and say that I’m not, with one big exception – I always look forward to waking up on the morning of the Orlando Informer Meetup! There’s just so much to be excited about, and so much to do to prepare for the fun day ahead.
Whether you’re up at the crack of dawn or like to snooze ‘til noon, I’ve put together a few ways you can make the most of the morning before an OI meetup. (I do them all!)

1. Set out your outfit for the evening
They say you should always dress for success, but, at Orlando Informer, we think you should dress for the fun! What, exactly, does that mean, you ask? Well, if you’re most excited to visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™, then now’s the time to wear your Hogwarts™ house apparel and show your school spirit. If you’re pumped to visit Jurassic Park, then be sure to rock that t-shirt with Blue the Velociraptor.
Trust me – you’ll be thankful you picked everything out in the morning when you’re in a mad rush to beat the traffic later on.
2. Make your OI Meetup plan
The best way to get excited for anything? Start planning! The Orlando Informer Meetup features little to no waits and crowds, so you’re able to spend more time riding, but it still can’t hurt to have a plan of attack for the evening. If you’re traveling with a group, make sure you’ve decided on where you want to eat and what attractions you want to hit up first. That way, you’ll avoid wasting time debating among the many great options once you arrive in the parks.
About two weeks prior to the OI Meetup, we email all guests a digital copy of our map. This will include a copy of the unlimited food menu, too, so be sure to take a look!
3. Relax by the pool
The Orlando Informer Meetup is all about having fun – so why not start your day off with some serene relaxation to mix it up? All of the Universal hotels offer the perfect way to do so: relaxing by the pool. Unwinding will help you free up mental real estate for the fun you’ll be having later on. Just be sure to wear plenty of sunscreen and bring along sunglasses and a sunhat, because that Florida sun is no joke!

4. Pack your bag, backpack, etc.
Just like picking out your outfit, this is something you’ll want to take care of the morning before the OI Meetup. In general, we recommend bringing along anything you would normally want to have for a day at Universal Orlando. You’ll also want to bring a mask. Don’t worry about packing food or drinks, though – the Orlando Informer Meetup offers unlimited snacks and non-alcoholic beverages for you to enjoy!
(Pro tip: be sure to check the forecast for the evening so you know to pack an umbrella, if needed. [But no worries if you don’t have one – you’ll receive a complimentary poncho if it rains during the exclusive portion of our OI Meetup!])
5. Get hyped with your friends
Whether you’re attending the Orlando Informer Meetup solo or going with a huge group, it’s time to get excited! Start a group chat with your traveling party to make sure you’re all on the same page with your plans for the day. If you’re heading out alone, now’s the perfect time to post in the Orlando Informer Facebook Community and make plans to meet up with fellow members. Get that countdown app on your phone started, and it’ll be time to head to Universal before you know it!
