8 reasons the Orlando Informer Meetup is a food-lover’s paradise

| | ,

Get ready, because you’re going to arrive at your Orlando Informer Meetup with heart eyes for all of the snacks (and full-on meals) available for you to scarf down. If food is one of your favorite things and top motivators in all social outings, this one’s for you.

The OI Meetup is a dreamy smorgasbord of unlimited meals, snacks, non-alcoholic beverages, and desserts – and we’re here to break down every bite of the delish perks. While the menus may change from time to time, we can promise you this: they will always be stacked with delicious options for every preference. (Hey – you’ve got to fuel up to save your soul from Imhotep on Revenge of the Mummy somehow, right?)

1. Try the famous park food you’ve heard so much about

Buffalo chicken wings accompanied by ranch dipping sauce from Finnegan's

Universal Orlando Resort is home to some pretty iconic menu items. Never given the ribs from Thunder Falls Terrace a spin in Jurassic Park? Listen to your stomach’s inner raptor growl and give them a try. Be one with the locals at Finnegan’s Bar & Grill and indulge in a cornish beef pasty, hot wings, and bread pudding.

Got savory potato goodness in your thoughts? We’ve got the answer: tots, tots, tots! If you’re ready for a loaded tater tot soiree, look no further than Green Eggs and Ham™ Cafe.

2. Let yourself have an adventurous palette

Mel's Drive-In at night

Three things we bet you didn’t think you’d find on the menu at the Orlando Informer Meetup:

  • Traditional gyros
  • Shepherd’s pie
  • Key lime cheesecake

Need we say more? Let your taste buds run a little wild and order something out of the ordinary – you might just find your new favorite food.

Our OI Meetup map is a great way to guide your culinary journey and prioritize which items your mouth is watering for.

3. When else are you going to try every flavor at Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour?

Ice cream lovers, rejoice. If you’ve been to Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ – Diagon Alley™, you know that it’s home to 20 of the most delicious and unique ice cream flavors you can find, both hard-packed and soft-serve. Mix and match your dream flavor combos (may we recommend Chocolate Chili and Strawberry & Peanut Butter?) or get single scoops of your top must-try flavors. (Spoiler alert: you can’t go wrong.)

4. Vegans and vegetarians can have fun, too!

Penne pasta with vegetables

When you think “theme-park food,” you probably don’t think there’s vegan and vegetarian options, right? Get ready to be proven wrong at the Orlando Informer Meetup.

Universal restaurants are serving up some of their best vegan options for your enjoyment. Try a vegan “chicken” and avocado sandwich from Mel’s Drive-In, treat yourself to vegan spaghetti bolognese at Louie’s Italian Restaurant, or keep it simple with a vegan burger at The Burger Digs in Jurassic Park. The Mummy vegan sandwich at Classic Monsters Cafe is worth checking out, too!

5. It’s the perfect time to settle the debate: Cold, Frozen, or Hot Butterbeer?

Cold Butterbeer from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Fans of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ tend to have a strong stance on which form of Butterbeer™ is best, and this is a prime opportunity to decide on the order of your top three. Hot Butterbeer™ is only available seasonally, and all forms of Butterbeer are included in the unlimited food and non-alcoholic beverages at the winter OI Meetup.

Whether you sip on the different options throughout the night, or sample them back-to-back for ultimate accuracy, you’re going to enjoy every bit of the process.

6. Stick to your diet, if you so choose

Rotisserie chicken, broccoli, and potatoes

We totally understand if you’ve got to eat healthy when you join the Orlando Informer Meetup. We’ve got nothing but respect for you – oh, and plenty of options.

Pizza Predatoria serves up a mean Caesar salad with grilled chicken in Jurassic Park, and you’ll find a garden salad and a scrumptious apple beet salad available at various locations across the parks. There are gluten-free basics for your convenience, as well: roasted broccoli and cauliflower, roasted chicken, fruit cups, and more.

7. Yes, Cinnabon® is on the list

Cinnabon cinnamon buns and Cinnastix

Remember being 14 and walking through your local mall, smelling pure cinnamon-sugar seduction wafting through the air past your favorite store? Cinnabon has always held our hearts within its cream-cheese icing. Now, you can feast on the ooey-gooey goodness without spending your allowance money.

Both the original Cinnabon® cinnamon roll and Cinnastix are available, unlimited, at the OI Meetup. Just stop by the Cinnabon® location at Port of Entry in Universal’s Islands of Adventure to get your Cinna-fix.

8. Chow down on classic theme-park fare

Churros with cream cheese and chocolate dipping sauces

Did you ever have that childhood dream of eating popcorn, churros, milkshakes, burgers, pizza, French fries, and cookies to your heart’s content? Us, too. That’s why we made all of the classic theme-park food you know and love unlimited at our Orlando Informer Meetup. Select snack carts and dining locations throughout the parks serve up these nostalgic faves and more. (The strawberry-and-lemon slush and chili dog combo is just what you deserve after zapping space aliens on MEN IN BLACK™ Alien Attack™!)

Last but not least, all of your soda, coffee, and other non-alcoholic sippings are at your disposal, as well. What are you most looking forward to feasting on?
