3 tips for your first Orlando Informer Meetup

| |

Riding a bike. Trying a new drink at your favorite coffee shop. Taking your maiden voyage on Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit. Your first time doing anything can be intimidating, and this is especially true if it’s your first time joining us for our Orlando Informer Meetup!

Not to worry, though – I’m here to share some of our favorite tips and tricks for your first time experiencing unlimited food and little to no waits for thrilling rides.

1. We’re here to help

The absolute first thing you should know is that our team is here to help you make the most of your evening. Before, during, and after the OI Meetup, please do not hesitate to give us a shout if there is anything that we can do to assist you. The easiest way to contact us is to call or text (855) 245-4636. (This is a great number to save and text throughout the evening, should you have any questions!) However, we’re flexible and happy to assist in whatever way is easiest: you can email us (at meetup@orlandoinformer.com), message us on Facebook, or send us a direct message on Twitter.

Everybody who helps answer requests at Orlando Informer is a passionate theme-park pro with years of first-hand experience. Trying to decide on the difficult decision of which restaurant to start at? Need clarification about any part of the Orlando Informer Meetup? Just want to run your plan for the evening by somebody? We’re ready and excited to be of service.

2. Have a loose plan

Speaking of plans, it’s a good idea to have a loose agenda if it’s your first time attending our OI Meetup. One of the benefits of little to no waits and crowds is that you definitely do not need a minute-by-minute itinerary; however, doing a bit of research in advance can negate your possibly feeling overwhelmed by all of the exciting opportunities upon your arrival. (This is even something hardened veterans do.)

I recommend starting with rides. Make a short list of the attractions you’re most interested in experiencing – oh, and riding over and over again.

Once you have a mental (or written!) handful of attractions you know you must do, next up is shows. At least two weeks prior to the Orlando Informer Meetup, we’ll email you a PDF map that includes all the exclusive showtimes (you’ll also receive a physical copy with your credential[s] when you arrive). Take a moment to figure out what would be the most convenient performance to catch. It may also be useful to look at the final showtimes, so you know the absolute last time you’d be able to see the productions you’re interested in.

Also included in the digital and physical map is the unlimited food menu. Take a quick gander and identify some of the most mouthwatering options and their associated locations (remember that unlimited food service begins one hour after the parks close to daytime guests). The majority of OI Meetup guests choose to begin their unlimited food journey at the restaurants in the back of the theme parks – that’s why we recommend starting towards the front of either park. And, most importantly, don’t forget to save room for dessert!

3. Maximize your Meetup

We’d be remiss to not mention the section of our site that you’re on now! We call it Maximize Your Meetup because it is our hope that it helps you, well, maximize your experience at our Orlando Informer Meetup. Here, you’ll find an assortment of useful tidbits. From eight reasons the OI Meetup is a food-lover’s paradise to six seriously persuasive ways to convince your significant other to attend, take advantage of these posts to have the best time possible.

The email you receive at least two weeks prior to your big night contains a slew of useful information. Please be sure to carefully review these details, as it will help you have a spectacular evening (or, even, two evenings)!

You can also leverage our Facebook community, where you can ask questions to fellow first-time attendees and OI Meetup veterans alike.

The most important tip of all is to purchase your Orlando Informer Meetup tickets and discounted hotel room stay early. Historically, both sell out in advance – and, often, quickly.

We look forward to welcoming you to your first OI Meetup!
