5 strategies to convince your BFF to join you for the ultimate OI Meetup weekend

| |

So, you’re really into the idea of making your way to the Orlando Informer Meetup this winter, but your best friend isn’t quite on board… yet. This is just one of those times when they might need a bit of guidance – like when they thought about chopping their bangs or considered getting back with that ex who was just the worst. What else are friends for other than sharing after-hours access at Universal Orlando Resort?

If your excessive hints (or straight-up persuasion) haven’t found success, I’m here with a few more strategies to convince your BFF to join you for the ultimate weekend.

Some imagery shown throughout our website does not represent current operational and safety guidelines.

1. Let’s be honest – you both need a vacation

This angle works on practically anyone, because who doesn’t need a vacation right now? There’s no better change of scenery than experiencing Universal after hours. Whether you’re looking for a local staycation or traveling from afar, the OI Meetup makes for a super convenient getaway, because we do the planning for you. With all of your food and fun across two Universal Orlando theme parks included in the price of a ticket, it’s never been easier to enjoy the escape you both deserve.

2. Unlimited food. Need I say more?

The words “unlimited food” will get me to go just about anywhere – and “unlimited theme-park food” are practically magic words. If your BFF is driven more by their taste buds than anything else, be sure they know that unlimited food and non-alcoholic beverages are included at the Orlando Informer Meetup. That means you get to stroll through the parks and order from a huge selection of full meals, desserts, snacks, and sips at no additional cost. And when you attend with your BFF by your side, that means you can compare and contrast your reactions to all of that deliciousness.

3. You need a plus-one for attractions (duh)

I thoroughly enjoy riding Universal’s attractions by myself, but I have to admit they’re a lot more fun when I have my best friend laughing and screaming by my side. I’m not saying you should guilt-trip your bestie into joining you, but I am saying it’d be a shame if you had to do all those amazing rides alone instead of with your BFF. With little to no waits on over 25 attractions, now’s your chance to get them to brave Revenge of the Mummy for the first time without turning back mid-queu

4. Avoid FOMO

There’s nothing worse than when your friends invite you to go somewhere, you say no, and that hangout ends up looking super fun when they post about it on social media. That’s what we millennials refer to as “FOMO” – the fear of missing out. As soon as your BFF sees you post about your 10th ride on Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit and all seven ice cream flavors you’ve devoured, they’re going to wish they had let you talk them into tagging along.

5. You’re due to get out and about

Maybe you’ve had one too many pizza-and-wine nights bingeing reality TV at home this year (I know I have!). It’s about time you got out of the house and made some more exciting memories together. There’s seriously no better setting for this than the OI Meetup – you can marathon through attractions with little to no waits, enjoy the after-hours ambiance of the parks, and indulge in all of your favorite snacks and sweets.

It’s what BFF-hangout dreams – and Instagram posts – are made of.

Here is where I bid you farewell and wish you luck in using these approaches to woo your bestie into being your date for this winter’s Orlando Informer Meetup.
