At Orlando Informer, we’re all about living in the moment. That’s why we host the OI Meetup, after all – so you can enjoy all the thrills and fun of Universal Orlando Resort with little to no waits and crowds! On the other hand, though, one of my favorite ways to reminisce is by looking at old photos – especially if they’re pics of happy memories.
But how can you live in the moment while snapping pictures nonstop? I’ll let you in on a secret: the best way to maximize your time in the parks and ensure you capture all those happy memories is to plan your photo ops ahead of time.
Don’t know where to start? No worries! I’ve compiled all of my favorite ones that you can get when you attend the Orlando Informer Meetup.

1. The Universal Studios Florida entrance
What better place to start our photographic journey than the entrance of Universal Studios Florida? You can snap a picture to remember how you felt right as one of the best nights of the year kicked off. Plus, with little to no crowds, it’s easier to get a photo that shows the park entrance in all its glory. (Don’t forget to tag @OrlandoInformer in any pics you share!)
2. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ –
Diagon Alley™ in Universal Studios Florida
With so much to do and see, it can get pretty bustling in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ – Diagon Alley™ during a normal park day. That’s all the more reason to take some beautiful shots of the magical sights and sounds during the OI Meetup!
(Pro tip: nothing beats a selfie in front of the fire-breathing dragon. And be sure to also stop by Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour for a sweet treat and some fantastic foodie pics, to boot.)
3. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ – Hogsmeade™ in Universal’s Islands of Adventure
Keeping with the magical theme, there are plenty of photo ops in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ – Hogsmeade™ that you’ll want to take advantage of, as well. Hogwarts™ castle looks particularly beautiful at night, so snap those night-mode shots and blow your Instagram followers away! There are also lots of other great opportunities in Hogsmeade™ village, like the colorful staircase inside of Honeydukes™.
4. Seuss Landing™ in Universal’s Islands of Adventure
Oh, the pictures you’ll take! This land in Universal’s Islands of Adventure is a personal favorite of mine. Between the bright colors and whimsical backdrops and buildings, you’re sure to find some unique photo ops here. I recommend posing next to the stack of books outside All the Books You Can Read, or among the vibrant Truffula trees.
5. The streets of Hollywood in Universal Studios Florida
If neon lights and palm trees are your thing, you can’t miss taking a picture in the streets of Hollywood. From the bright lights of Mel’s Drive-In to the façade of Universal Orlando’s Horror Make-Up Show, there are plenty of possibilities to be found here. This is another area that’s usually full of action, so getting to take it all in (and snap some photos) with little to no crowds is a photographer’s dream.
If all of the above options weren’t enough, you can also take photos with some of the many characters that are out and about during the Orlando Informer Meetup. Once it’s your turn, feel free to ask someone in the vicinity to take your picture — the OI Meetup community is full of kind and helpful people who will be more than happy to. And if nobody’s nearby, there’s always the classic selfie to save the day!
