Whether you’re celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary or looking for the perfect first date idea, I’ve put together a list of my favorite ways to bring the romance to the OI Meetup.

1. Ride all the thrill rides
I know what you’re thinking – thrill rides don’t exactly scream romance. But here’s a pro tip: one of the best excuses to hold your partner’s hand is when you’re just a little bit nervous about riding that scary roller coaster.
There are plenty of thrill rides to choose from at the Orlando Informer Meetup, including Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, Jurassic Park River Adventure, and Revenge of the Mummy. Trust me – when Imhotep’s undead soldiers pop up on the sides of the track, there’s no better excuse to reach for your date for dear life!
2. Share a snack
As simple as it may sound, I can confirm that there’s nothing more romantic than splitting a churro with that special someone. If baked cinnamon-y goodness isn’t your style, then split some ice cream from Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ – Diagon Alley™ instead! Nothing says “I love you” quite like sharing a cup of chocolate chili hard-pack ice cream with each other.
3. Take cute couple pictures
You don’t need an Instagram boyfriend or girlfriend to get the perfect couple picture at the OI Meetup! Most cell phones have a self-timer feature, so you can prop yours up to get the perfect shot of you and your beau. And if not, the classic selfie never fails.
Regardless of your strategy, be sure to take at least a few photos on your Orlando Informer Meetup date – you’ll want to look back on them when you’re counting down to the next one!
4. Toast your relationship
Universal Orlando Resort makes it possible to transport yourself into your favorite movies – and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ is the perfect example. What could be more romantic than enjoying Hot Butterbeer™ underneath the fiery breath of the dragon guarding Gringotts™ bank? (This would be the perfect follow-up to actually riding Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts™, as mentioned in tip number one!)
5. Pick up a romantic souvenir
There are plenty of opportunities to shop at the Orlando Informer Meetup – why not pick up a romantic souvenir to remember your date by? You can grab a t-shirt that features your significant other’s favorite Universal movie, whether it be Jaws or Jurassic Park, or you can pick up matching 30th anniversary merchandise to rock together on your next park date. Those vintage logo jean jackets are the perfect way to subtly match with your honey!
